In Rio de Janeiro, Gil & Moti went in search of ‘Jogo de Bicho’ (animal game), an illegal gambling game played everywhere on the city’s streets. They made a film with Gustav, who became their gambling instructor and guide. Gustav reveals the history of the game, which owes its popularity to the fact that people with very little money can also try their luck. He takes Gil & Moti into the city, immersing them in the harsh daily reality and lack of perspective in the favelas, and telling them about his dreams and concerns for his children. In this context, the artists realised they were tourists who could engage but had a way out again, unlike their protagonists. They turned the shirts they wore into ambiguous souvenirs.
