Welkom in Drop Land !!!

Drop Land is een uniek interactief kunstproject, dat het publiek op speelse wijze integreert met de Gil & Moti Homegallery, de winkels, cafes en bars in de Witte de Withstraat, Rotterdam, gebruik makend van die ene speciale liefde van de Nederlanders: drop. In workshops kunnen bezoekers samenwerken met verscheidene drop-kunstenaars, hun drop-verslaving verwerken m.m.v. Dr. Op, drop-sculpturen maken en hun drop verhalen vertellen.
Het project is deel van het 'September in Rotterdam 2001' programm en het 'Wereld van de Witte de With' Festival.

Drop Land is an interactive art project, which integrates the audience with the Gil & Moti Homegallery and the shops, cafes and bars in the Witte de Withstraat, Rotterdam. The project is part of September in Rotterdam 2001 program en de Wereld van de Witte de With Festival.
Participating artists:
Touch Gafla, Maurice Bogaert, Jolie, Fiona Weir, Gerrit Jan Fukkink, Sigal Wiesbien, Judith Crouwell, Anne Wenzel, Silvia B, Marleen van Wijngaarden, Gil & Moti .
All artists will be present on the days of the festival to work with you, the audience, and will wear special costumes made by Gil & Moti.

"..."Something is wrong!"- exclaimed the prince as he was erecting the spiky crown on the head of his lovely spitting image.
"Something is definitely wrong!"- exclaimed the second prince in reply, not neglecting the work on his twin's crown as had been their habit ever since they remembered themselves.
When the crowns were ready, they stared at each other, aware of the strange feeling the new day has brought along with it. After inspecting their expressions in each other's face for another minute, they knew what was wrong. For some obscure reason, they weren't smiling this morning..."

Working with collaborating artists among visitors, we intend to turn the Witte de Withstraat in to a Drop-Kingdom.
The Homegallery will be sculpted from floor to ceiling coated with drops creating a Hans & Grietje surrounding.

       Dr. Op was born in 1906 in a small village in north Dropland. As a child she found herself searching for a cure for a rare disease that attacked the people of her village, when she turned 20, she went for a journey around the world, exploring different methods of healing. When she came back one day to visit her family, she heard a story from her grandmother about the lost Dropje tribe. She went to look for them in the wild forests around the village. Finally she found the lost tribe and learned from the elders all the secrets of Drop-healing. She learned how to deal with the problem of the people from her village but also the secret of happiness, youth, and love.

 Since than she has been travelling around the world spreading her knowledge. Dr.Op uses all her products herself -that is why she is ageless and always happy.
Dr.Op will give workshops in Rotterdam at Gil & Moti Homegallery. Dr.Op will lead you through the enchanting road of imagination and creating your own inner world- a place to look for happiness. Children and adults-everyone is welcome! Also she will lead the Drop Addicted Supporting Group. If you are a drop-addict, you can e-mail Dr.Op for advise!
